Haddie’s Kindness Kitchen: How One Eighth Grader Is Sharing Love, One Box at a Time

From Passion to Purpose
The holiday treat boxes took time, planning, and dedication. Haddie estimates she spent 20–40 hours shopping for ingredients, baking hundreds of items, and carefully packaging each box. Inside were six or seven treats — including her personal favorites: festive Grinch cookies and beautiful swirl cookies she described as “really pretty… and really yummy.”
It wasn’t easy work — but it was joyful work.
Kindness That Keeps Going
And Haddie isn’t slowing down.
She’s already planning her next project: Valentine’s Day treat boxes for foster youth. On a smaller scale this time, she says with a smile — but with just as much heart. Valentine’s Day, she believes, is a day to let people know you care.
Haddie is also exploring ways to involve others — possibly through a small fundraiser to help cover ingredient costs, and even adding stuffed animals to future boxes.
An Invitation to Give
What makes Haddie’s story so special isn’t just what she’s done — it’s what she reminds all of us.
You don’t need to be an adult.
You don’t need a big budget.
You don’t need a title.
You just need a willingness to notice others and act with love.
At Children’s Hope, we are endlessly grateful for young leaders like Haddie — and for the community members who support and encourage efforts like hers. Her kindness is proof that compassion is contagious and that one person truly can make a difference.
As Haddie’s Kindness Kitchen continues to grow, we hope her story inspires other young people, families, and community members to share their gifts — whether through baking, volunteering, donating, or simply showing up with an open heart.
Because kindness, like love, is always better when it’s shared.
Stay tuned for more updates on Haddie’s Kindness Kitchen and her Valentine’s project — the future is bright, and it’s being shaped by hearts like hers.
