Foster Parent Appreciation Dinner 2022

By Rachel Mar

This past month Children’s Hope hosted their annual foster parent appreciation dinner. This event was a night full of laughs, limbo, prizes, good food, and even better company.  At this year’s event, we had a community outpour of raffle donations to give to each one of our foster families that attended the appreciation dinner.  We are constantly blown away by the kindness and generosity of our incredible community.

This night was so special because, unlike any other night, each person in this room all had one thing in common. The commonality was that each person dedicates a significant part of their life to step up for our vulnerable youth by opening their home and inviting them into their family.

As a foster family, we do not just advocate for a child’s wants and needs or provide a room for them to sleep. We welcome children and young adults into our homes with open arms and allow them time and space for healing to take place. Welcoming a child in foster care into your home changes the dynamic of your household, but our incredible families choose to do it time and time again.

Being in a room filled with these families creates an energy that is unmatched. It is filled with an outpouring love from our parents and a radiating joy from our staff getting to hang out with some of their favorite kids. This night was so fun to create a greater sense of community with our families and show them how much we truly appreciate them.

Foster families really do make a difference, one child at a time.
