Children's Hope Foster Family Agency Information for Prosepctive Foster Families

Dear Potential Foster Parents,

One of the most important challenges that you will ever have is the role you have as a foster parent. Vitally important to our clients is the challenge we share in trying to repair a breakdown in the normal or traditional family structure and lifestyle.

We appreciate the contribution made by our current foster parents and staff and welcome you to our "extended family." We share with you the desire to make a difference in the lives of the children and youth we serve. An appropriate sentiment which is applicable to the roles we play as we endeavor to make a difference in the lives of these young people who have suffered from both physical and emotional displacement has been expressed by these words of Forest Witcraft:

"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was or the kind of car I drove; but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."

Foster parenting is not an easy job. We hope, however, with the support of our professional staff, you will find it a successful and rewarding endeavor. We will make every effort to provide assistance and support services as you become acquainted with and deal with the complex issues of the legal and social network, and especially the needs of our clients.

Any questions you may have which are not covered by our introduction manual regarding which, procedures, emergencies, laws of confidentiality, children's rights, natural parent's rights, or any regulatory issues, may be directed to our staff. In addition, we welcome any suggestions you may have on way or means to provide improved support services to our clients and foster parents. Our goal is that by working together as an extended family team we may live up to our mission statement:

To provide our clients with a professional level of care, compassion, understanding, and services which meet or exceed their greatest level of expectations, and which will enable them to attain and live a normal, centered lifestyle in today's society.

Very Truly Yours,
