CPR Training Changes

The cost of classes is $65.00.  CHFFA reimburses up to $65.00 for foster parents attending outside classes.

Saturday classes start at 8:00 a.m. for CPR.  We take ½ hour for lunch.  First Aid starts at about 12:30 and finishes about 3:00.
Weekday classes start at 8:30 a.m. for CPR.  We take 1 hour for lunch.  First Aid starts about 1:30 and finishes at about 4:00.
All classes will be held in the Gridley Conference Room.

We do not provide babysitting for these classes and children whether they are babies, teenagers, or anywhere in between are very distracting to the rest of the class.

Red Cross provides an option for individuals who are confident of their CPR/First Aid skills to challenge the class to receive certification. A "challenger" is required to pass both a written and skills examination, without any class instruction. There is information available to study ahead of time, provided on request. Those that do not pass the challenge are required to attend the class. Challenges take approximately one hour and are scheduled on Friday afternoon/ evenings the day before a scheduled Saturday class or Monday days following a scheduled Saturday class. The challenge fee is: CPR/$25 First Aid:$10

Challenges should be scheduled at least one week in advance to ensure the availability of our instructor.

Current Children's Hope foster parents will not be assessed a fee for CPR & First Aid re-certification. However, prospective foster parents are required to pay initially. Once a child is placed in the home they can be reimbursed.

Due to limited class size, reserve an opening for upcoming classes as soon as possible.
